Mafinga District has successfully concluded sensitization meetings for the Revised Cash-for-Work (R-CFW) Programme across all thirteen (13) wards.

The meetings brought together community members, Ward Development Committees (WDCs), Councillors, and traditional leaders, providing a platform to outline how the programme will be implemented and managed at community level.

During the sessions, it was emphasized that key community structures—namely the Community Welfare Assistance Committees (CWACs), Ward Development Committees (WDCs), and Satellite Disaster Management Committees (SDMCs)—will play a central role in the implementation process. These structures will help ensure transparency, accountability, and effective coordination.

Residents were encouraged to understand that the programme is specifically designed to support individuals who are not currently benefiting from any form of cash assistance. It was further highlighted that persons in formal employment are not eligible to participate.

The programme will also prioritize inclusivity, with Persons with Disabilities among those eligible for selection under the R-CFW initiative.

Successful applicants will be informed through beneficiary lists that will be published on Mafinga Town Council’s official communication channels.

Under the programme, beneficiaries shall earn a maximum of K600 per month, based on up to ten (10) working days at a rate of K60 per day.

To ensure an efficient and credible registration process, Data Entry Clerks have been deployed across all wards. Their role includes capturing and uploading applicant details into the system to maintain accurate records, support transparency, and prevent duplication.

The sensitization meetings were well received by communities, reflecting strong public interest and support for the programme. The initiative is expected to provide much-needed relief while promoting community participation in local development activities.
