𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐲𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫 (𝐂𝐁𝐕𝐬) 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠

In a bid to enhance healthcare delivery, Mafinga District is one of five districts (Nakonde, Mpika, Chinsali, and Kanchibiya) in Muchinga Province to benefit from a training program initiated by the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation. The program aims to equip 50 polyvalent Community-Based Volunteers (CBVs) with essential primary healthcare skills. The training, comprising 14 days of theoretical instruction and 7 days of practical experience, is designed to enable CBVs to provide basic healthcare services to their communities. Participants were selected from 17 health facilities, with support from Neighbourhood Health Committees (NHCs) and Ward Development Committees (WDCs). The Provincial Health Office (PHO) team, in collaboration with the Mafinga District Health Office (DHO), is working tirelessly to ensure that these polyvalent CBVs acquire the necessary skills to bring healthcare services closer to the community level.

 This initiative is expected to decongest health facilities and contribute to the development of healthier communities across Mafinga District.
