The Mafinga Town Council, led by the Director of Planning, Mr. Kondwani Simukoko, recently hosted a site visit for a team of engineers from different construction companies to inspect the proposed area for the construction of a modern 2 megawatts solar power plant. This project is part of the Presidential Community Energy Initiative, aimed at promoting renewable energy generation across the country.
The council has allocated approximately 5.142 hectares of land for the construction of the solar power plant. This project is expected to significantly enhance power availability in the district and contribute to the country’s efforts to increase its renewable energy output.
