MAFINGA TOWN COUNCIL COMMENCES THE MASS PRODUCTION OF DESKS LOCALLY.

In a bid to ensure that no child is sitting on the floor in a class by the end of 2023 as directed by President Hakainde Hichilema. Mafinga Town Council under the constituency development fund has kickstarted a mass production of two thousand five hundred desks using a local contractor.

The production which is expected to run for eight weeks is estimated at a cost of two million seven hundred and forty-three thousand kwacha and will see most schools in the district receive the much-needed desks.

Speaking when the contractors showcased samples of the desks being made at the civic center today, Mafinga Council Secretary Henry Siwakwi said that the local authority is ensuring that the president’s directive trickles down to the Mafinga district.

He has further implored the local contractors to ensure that quality work is done so that value for money is seen.
